To set up your Authorize.net account to work with your WebStarts shopping cart system and begin processing credit cards, use the following steps:
Step 1: When your merchant account is set up, they will provide you with Authorize.net login information. Use that information to log in at www.authorize.net.
Step 2: Near the bottom of the page, on the left, click the "Settings" under the account heading.
Step 3: Scroll down and click on the "API Login ID and Transaction Key" link.
Step 4: Copy your API Login ID from that page by highlighting, right clicking, then clicking "copy".
Step 5: In your shopping cart account, click the "Settings" tab, then click "Ecommerce".
Step 6: Choose "authorize.net from the drop down and paste your information into the "API Login ID" field.
Step 7: Back in your authorize.net account, create a new transaction key by entering the answer to your secret question, then click "submit".
Step 8: Copy the new transaction key, then paste it in your shopping cart settings just below the API Login ID. Click "save" at the bottom of the page.
Note: Make sure your authorize.net account is NOT IN TEST MODE. Check this by going back to your authorize.net account settings and find the "Test Mode" link.
Step 9: When you are ready to go live, click the "settings" tab in your shopping cart and make the shopping cart account live.

Step 1: Log into your shopping cart account and click the "Settings" tab. Find the "Shipping" link and click that to access your shipping settings.
Step 2: Next to calculation method, choose "Custom" from the drop down.

You can also create a link to the file http://www.webstarts.com/support/link-to-file.php, then right click and select "properties" to see the URL of that file. You will need to copy the URL of that file.
Step 6: In your shopping cart account, paste the URL of the file in the field titled "File URL". Fill out "Download Link Text" and click "Add".

Step 2: Create a new list by clicking "Manage Email Lists" and click "Add List".
Step 3: Assign a name, a From Name, a From Email, and send results, then click "Add".
Step 4: Click "Manage Subscribers" and click "Add Subscribers" to manually add contacts to your email list. Note: You can have customers automatically added to your lists using the "Create Forms" link under "Email Marketing".

1. Starts by editing the page that you wish to remove the banner from (the steps will need to be repeated on each page you wish to remove the banner).
2. Once editing the page, click File followed by Page Settings.
3. Once inside the Page Settings, you will see a Check Box located in the lower left corner that reads: Remove Footer Banner. Make sure this is checked and then click the Apply button in the lower right corner.
4. This will apply the changes to the page. Make sure to then save the page and the banner will be removed.

Why don't my web pages look the same on every computer and in every browser?
There are three primary things which can cause your web pages to appear differently on different computers.
Operating System
Your operating system is the software that runs your computer system. Windows is an example of an operating system. Each operating system has it's own way of rendering web pages and even each version. So if you're running Windows Vista and your friend is running Windows XP your pages may render differently.
Web Browser
Your browser is the software installed on your computer that let's you browse the web. An example of a browser is Internet Explorer. Each browser has it's own way of rendering web pages and even each version. So if you're running Internet Explorer and yoru friend is running Firefox your pages my render differently.
Tip: Most internet users are running Internet Explorer or Firefox. Design your site in a way that looks appealing in both. You can test this by installing both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Display Settings
Your display settings can cause yoru web pages to be displayed differently. For example: Most computer screens are currently set to display at a resolution of 1024x768 or better. So if you design your web page to use all the available space on your screen and you're computer is set to 1024x768 and then you go to a friend's and they're display is set to 800x600 they will have to scroll to see portions of your page. This also works the other way. If you are running 1024x768 and design your web page to use all the available space on your screen and then go to a friend's house and their display is set to 1900x1200 you will see a lot more space on their screen.
Tip: Most internet users are running their display at 1024x768 or better. So designing your site to look good in that resolution will typically result in a satisfactory view of your web pages.
Another factor which may affect they way your pages appear on different computers is your DPI setting. The vast majority of users have their DPI set to 96 DPI. Some users will change this to 120 DPI. The result of which is things appearing larger.
Tip: Design your site to look good with a setting of 96 DPI. Only a small fraction of users have adjusted this setting on their computer.
DPI settings are controlled in the display settings area of your operating system.

You can increase the width and height of your pages within your Webstarts website. Start by clicking the Increase Size icon located on the right side of the toolbar. From the drop down, select the appropriate width from the options provided to increase te width of your page. You can also click on the Custom Width or Custom Height links to enter a custom width or height to your page.
Once you select a width, you will be asked if you want to apply the width to all pages on your site. Choosing Yes will apply this new width to each of your pages.

You can select multiple items by holding the SHIFT key while clicking the pictures. Once you have all of the images selected, you will click Edit, then Copy.
Step 7. Save your page, then navigate to a different page in your website. Once you are there, click Edit, Paste to paste the images onto the new page. This will paste the images and the hyperlinks that you have created. You will need to paste this on every page that you want to have your navigation bar.
Step 8. Delete the easy navigation bar from your pages if you have not done so already. You can do that by logging into your Account Dashboard then select 'No' from the 'Shown On Menu' column located under 'My Pages'.

Choose the second option titled 'I already own a domain name and would like to use it with Webstarts' and enter the domain name you would like to use in the space provided below, and click 'Check Availability'. Then, click the 'Continue' button, choose the upgrade option that is best for you and proceed through the checkout process to complete your account upgrade and existing domain name association.
Before your domain will resolve to your website properly, you will need to edit the name servers for the domain name to point to the Webstarts name server. This needs to be done with the company where you originally registered the domain name. Our name servers are as follows:

Note: If you already have email associated with your existing domain name, changing your DNS records could cause your email to stop working. In this case the best thing is to do is change your "A Record" with your existing domain registrar to 208.38.155.73 instead of changing your DNS records. This will allow you to use your existing email accounts in the way you always have.

4. Once you have coppied the content, create a new text box on your webstarts web page using the Insert Textbox icon on the toolbar.

That's all there is to it. You should now see that the text from your document is now in your Webstarts web page.
Note: Some documents may cause HTML code errors when pasting directly into your Webstarts web page. In that case, it is a good practice to first paste the document content into a simple text editor such as Notepad and then copy and paste from Notepad into your text box. What this does is it effectively strips any additional HTML code from your page that could lead to errors on your Webstarts website.

How do I change my Webstarts website design/web page layout?

To change the layout of your pages you simply click on various objects on your page and re-arrange them however you would like. Once you click on an object you'll notice small gray boxes we refer to as "handles". Clicking and dragging these handles will allow you to resize an object. Once you have created your desired layout save your page.
You can make all the pages of your site look the same by creating copies of your layout with different page names.
You can also change the entire design of your site by going to your account dashboard and clicking the "Change Design" icon. Please note that changing your design will permanently delete all your website content.

How To Get Started With Your Webstarts Website

Once you've signed up for an account you're ready to begin editing your website. After logging into your account the first page you see is called the dashboard. You can begin editing the pages on your website by clicking on the icon labeled "Edit Website" or you can click the pencil icon to the right of your page names which are listed on the lower half of the dashboard.




After you've clicked on "Edit Website" the page editor will load your home page. You can choose to edit other pages by choosing them from the drop down menu in the top left while in the page editor view.

Drag And Drop Any Object

You can move any object on your web page while in the page editor by clicking and holding down the left mouse button and dragging your object to the location where you would like it to appear on your webpage.

Everything Can Be Customized

If you have chosen to use a pre-designed it's important to remember that the entire design is completely re-arrangeable. So if there are any objects on the page you don't want to use you can simply click to select them and then click the red x in order to remove them from your page.

Add Text To Your Webpage

You can also add any object you want to your page. For example you can add a text box to your page by clicking the add text icon on the toolbar. A text layer will appear in the upper left corner of your page. You can then drag this text layer to where you would like it to appear.

Edit Text On Your Webpage

You can edit the contents of a text box by clicking the pencil icon which appears while a text box is selected. To change the font size, style, or color of your text click and drag your mouse over the top of the text you want to change then choose the appropriate icon from the toolbar.

Add Images To Your Webpage

You can add any image you want to your webpages. To do this click on the insert image icon on the toolbar. You can choose to add an image from the pre-loaded image library by clicking on the image library tab and then clicking on the image you want to add to your page.

You can upload images from your computer by clicking on the button labeled "browse", then choosing the file you want to upload from your local computer. Once the file is uploaded it will product a thumbnail image in the file manager view. Click on the thumbnail image and it will be added to your webpage.

Edit Images On Your Webpage

To resize an image on your page click on the small gray boxes which appear on the corners of the image while it's selected. Click and hold the left mouse button in order to resize the image.

You can rotate and/or crop your image by clicking on the edit image icon while your image is selected. Rotate the image by clicking and dragging the slide control. Click and drag the handles around any image with the crop image tab selected then click the button labeled "Update Image" to crop an image and apply it to your page.

Add Any Object To Your Webpage

You can add virtually anything you want to your webpage including widgets, web applications, forms, slideshows, forums, blogs, guestbooks, and more. Some of these features are built directly into your account while others while require you to embed code from other websites.

You can easily embed code from other websites by copying and pasting the code into your webpage while in the page editor view. Click on the HTML icon on the toolbar, paste the code in the area provided, and then click Ok. You will then be able to drag and drop your object where you'd like it to appear.

Saving And Publishing Your Webpage

You can save and publish your webpages anytime while in the page editor view by clicking on the save icon on the toolbar. When you click this icon or choose to save and publish from the drop down menu your page will be updated and displayed live on the web. Whatever you save will be published to the web.

Finding Your Website On The Web

To find your website on the web you will have to type your web address into the address bar of your web browser. A web browser is the software program you use to view webpages. The most popular browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Chrome. Please not that you will not be able to find your website immediately by performing a search in a search engine like Google, Yahoo, or MSN. To ensure your website can be found on search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN be sure to upgrade to a pro account.

If you are using a free account your web address will be something like webstarts.com/YourSiteTitle. Upgrade to a pro account to get your own custom domain like YourWebsite.com.

Updating Your Website

You can make changes to your website at anytime by logging into your account and choosing the page you would like to edit. This can be done from any computer that has internet access.
